Our Story
Every great journey begins with a single unforgettable moment.
For our founder, Mayurpratapsingh, that moment came in 1998, when as a young boy he witnessed his very first leopard in the Ajanta Forest Range alongside his grandfather. The brief encounter with the elusive cat sparked a lifelong fascination with wildlife and forests.
Years later, in 2006, he experienced another milestone—his first tiger sighting. Watching India’s most iconic predator in its natural habitat transformed curiosity into passion. From that day onward, weekends and holidays became opportunities to explore forests, observe wildlife, study birds, and photograph nature.
Over the years, wildlife photography and birdwatching evolved from hobbies into a way of life. Every journey into the forest deepened his understanding of ecosystems, animal behaviour, conservation challenges, and the delicate balance that sustains biodiversity.
While building a successful career in the corporate world, the dream of contributing meaningfully to wildlife conservation never faded. Eventually, that dream took shape as Vanraj Safaris a company founded on the belief that tourism should celebrate nature without disturbing it.
